Larry J. Powell, Jr. serves as the Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Marquis Software and is responsible for operational strategy, finance, budgeting, and human resources needs. Larry also drives organizational vision and works to ensure operational excellence across the company.

Larry is heavily involved in all aspects of company operations. He plays an integral role in performing human resource tasks, reviewing contracts, responding to competitive procurements, and managing quality control, all while working to improve and automate existing business processes where appropriate.

Larry joined Marquis Software in 2002. Shortly after joining Marquis, Larry served the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) as an on-site consultant for nearly 7 years. During his time with the Department he developed and maintained several web applications, including the eOMIS^® biometrics module which tracks visitors, staff, and volunteers who enter and exit Florida prisons. Following his stint at the FDC, Larry spent 5 years developing web applications for the Florida Department of Health before being summoned back to Marquis headquarters to work as a developer on eOMIS^® and lead Marquis’ Quality Assurance initiatives. Larry was asked to serve as Marquis’ COO in June 2019.

Larry earned his bachelor’s degree at King University in Business Administration and completed his Master of Business Administration degree at Florida State University.
